How to measure a bit size - urgent help wanted

Can you tell me how to measure a bit. I have just sold a 6" Happy Mouth Loose Ring Bit on ebay. It is a straight rubber bar. I measured the bit from inside one ring across the bar to the inside of the other ring, 6". They buyer is saying I have sold her a 7" and I can only assume she has measured the whole length of the rubber bar, past the rings.

Did I measure wrong?

Please help, I don't want to diddle her in anyway but at the same time I don't want to refund at my own expense if I have done nothing wrong.

measure from inside ring to inside of other ring so guessing she has measured it wrong plus straight bars look bigger than they are maby find an artical on mesuring bits and attach it
