I want to sell my bates saddle but no clue what size it is or how to measure any help will be much appreciated thanks in advance .

Measure the seat size from the nail at the pommel (either side, doesn't matter which one) to the centre of the cantle with a tape measure.

Regarding the saddle's width DON'T measure from dee to dee or fall down staple to fall down staple across the front of the saddle to determine the width, this measurement has no bearing on the width and will give a false reading but you still see people advertising saddles 8 inch dee to dee!
