Is there anything I can put on my Haffy's mane to prevent my other pony over zealously grooming it? I love that they groom but it has almost nearly all been chewed off near is wither and a third of the way up his neck :( He's my show pony so would prefer him to keep what is left is possible :/

P.S. I know horses will be horses.

So far we seem to be having success with industrial Vaseline (around £10/kg off Ebay) and chilli/paprika (a couple of small jars from Lidls) mixed into a paste and rubbed on mane and tail.

Cribox, Cribox Spray, vinegar+lemon juice, and NoBite did not work. I found the sprays impractical as the ponies hated the spray! (Took at least a week for them to forgive me!).

The mixture does look like a bad night on the curry. Ponies take a taste, then the reaction kicks in which is quite funny.

So far, so good. But it does look terrible! Apparently, the hair grows back at the rate of about 5 inches a year. Sorry!

He has a white mane, would this stain? Luckily, so far she seems to have chewed underneath so there is still some long hair on top to cover the rest of the bog brush :(
