Happily and sadly at the same time, we have found a lovely new home for our beloved pony after we decided he and our daughter were not proving to be a great riding combination. Tack was not part of the sale price and is to be by separate negotiation but I have no idea how to value tack? It is all in good condition but some of it is now 2 years old (all bought from new originally) - if it all cost circa £700 - £800 originally does it have much value 2 years later?

We are hopefully going to visit the pony later today (he has been out on LWVTB) and I hope I do not bawl my eyes out!!!

I would just look on preloved/ebay and get an idea of what it's selling for and then round it to a figure you're happy with.

Our mare was originally tack on separate negotiation (wintec saddle, heritage bridle and 2 quality amigo rugs) We bought price down by 500 and got tack & rugs with the mare.. ;)

But as above - check online what it is going for 2nd hand but don't charge anything stupid. :)

thanks both of you for the reply. Him going to a good home is much more important than getting some money for the tack so I think we will offer a sensible but low price. I want it to go into my 'replace the pony' fund!
