start at the bottom of the mane
take a small piece of mane
hold it just below the length that you want it to be
put the pulling comb just above your fingers
back come the bit above where you are holding it
this should leave you with only the long bit of mane that wants pulling out in your hand
put the comb as high as you can on this long bit
wrap the bottom of the long bit around the comb
then pull down in a short sharp movement
the faster you pull it out the less it hurts
carry along the rest of the mane then when finished get a pair of rubber gloves and using your fingers just pull out any random long hairs that are left.
sorry a bit long hope it makes sense
. Its one of those things that its easier to show people than tell them.
a solo comb won't leave you with as good a finish as pulling. If you are pulling the mane to look tidy, it's fine. But if you will be plaiting, then pulling it properly is the way to go.
As for tips on how to. Go to your purse, pull out a fiver or a tenner (if it's really long) and pay yo to do it.
