Does anyone know how to remove a partition on an Ifor HB506?

Can anyone tell me how to do this please, i need to collect a round hay bale at the weekend, and have never taken the partition out before.

Take the breech and breast bars out. Swing the partitions to the diagonal and lift them off.

Once you've removed both you will see that at the top of the centre bar there is a pin. Remove this. Keep it safe! The bar will then come down and lift out.

I found it's worth remembering which is the front partition and which is the rear as the bars didn't fit properly when they were wrong way round!

Its easy to do with one person just when taking out the center bar - it can be a snug fit if its never been taken out before so it can take a tap with a mallet, just make sure you push it out towards the back ramp, not the front. There is a hook in the floor then that come out easily when the bar is tipped towards the back.

Note - you must swing the partition right into the diagonal position - there is a nut on the pillar and the groove on the partition has to line up with this so it slides off . This is a safety system to prevent a horse accidentally knocking the partition off. Once you have done it and seen how it works it is easy but until then can be tricky. Easier with two people, especially to put back as a bit awkward to hold and line up exactly.

And the pin is a real bugger to get out....you may need a pair of pliers and a small hammer to assist you! As others have said whatever you do don’t lose it....I always put the pin and the d clip back in place otherwise it will get misplaced...
