My two Premier Equine Fly Rugs are looking particuarly dingy at the moment, they have gone a horrible grey colour.

I was wondering what you used to whiten your whites? Saddle cloths, rugs, etc.

I've always used Dr Beckman whitening packs for my show whites in the past but not sure if my horse has any allergies. The rug lady takes too long returning rugs so I want to do it myself in the washing machine in a laundry bag.

I use Vanish for Whites in the machine for saddle cloths and fly sheets. They come up fine. My rider uses it for her breeches.

Gosh, I'm impressed by your comittment. My rugs are clean if they don't have grease embedded in them :D But we are on clay so everything is orange after five minutes anyway.....good luck!!

P.S. Make sure you take a photo for us of Lari in his dazzling whites (the instant it goes on obviously)

Serviceably clean is grand for me too, though I don't have any fly rugs that were bright white even when new.

30°c wash with rug wash for the waterproof fly rugs and standard non bio detergent for the mesh only ones. They come up really well compared to the state they are in before washing :D.

Just done mine... All the rugs are several seasons old, mind.
