How to stand a horse in show?

Hopefully i will be showing my youngster this summer (in-hand) and i was wondering what is the correct way to make him stand? Also any other tips for showing?

He is lovely.
The only tip I've picked up is not to stand them downhill, even if it means the judge has to move round to look at him! the bum high look is not desirable, lol.
Try to keep him looking interested too, some rustly wrappers in your pocket may help...as long as he doesn't start mugging you.

LOL to avoid the bumhigh look, why don't you let him plant both his front feet on top your feet?... those vital inches!
