How to stop a youngster over bending in canter??

I have a green five year old who has come on so much lately

but when he canters he is really over bending to the inside rein. He even does this on the straight. I am having a real job trying to correct this and would really appreciate any tips or excercises that may help. He has had EVERYTHING checked and is definately down to his inexperience rather than a physical problem. Thankyou...all comments gratefuly recieved! x x
 
This will be due to him not taking the contact forward

You need to use more leg and really push him forwards into the contact. Lifting you hands and pushing them forward (but not letting go of the contact) will help aswell

I agree. And make sure you are not using too much inside rein or not enough outside rein. Soft, elastic, even contact on both reins is importat
