Is there any home made things out there to stop my horse from chewing my new post and rail fence? He likes the tase of anti chew potions so they will not work. Some one told me chilli powder and vegetable oil mixed together?

Depends why he's chewing it, stress or bordom, impatiance? sometimes they just bite it (cribbing), othertimes they actually chew/nibble on it, either way some electric tape would stop either.

If it's because he's going through that stage of nibbling on things or just likes chewing up the wood on top of the posts, you could mix horse droppings with water and paint the top of the posts in it, the smell should put them off messing with the post, although eventually it will wash off but it won't cost you anything trying it out to see if it works, may kick the habbit.

Perhaps add a field lick tub or a field ball with some nibbles in if he's doing it to satisfy his taste buds or bordom.

My youngsters are chewing everything in sight at the moment, teething, so I ve painted on old engine oil, seems to have worked, they havent gone near !!

Another vote for screw ins and electric fencing wire. I have post and 3 rail and have put up the wire on the top rail only. The horses haven't chewed any of the fencing as I guess a zap in the teeth isn't worth repeating.
