My black leather saddle is lightening and turning what I can only describe as a green colour! Has anyone else experienced this? I clean it regularly and it is still beautifully supple. How can I stop it? It doesn't look great :(

sorry you wont stop it fading as black tack is dyed and not a natural hide color! all you can do is keep it oiled and soaped to keep it as dark as possible. brown tack is much better for longlivity.

i think you can get a saddl cleaner that makes the tack blacker cant remember what it was called as saw it t a show
im quite sure my saddle is quite old and has had lotsof owners as it is very orn and the d-rings are all rusty but hasnt turned green yet
hope this helps

As ocyc says, it's dyed black so the dye can come out after a while :(

Just wondering if there is a way of re-dying it whilst it is in-situ so's to speak. I'll ask my saddler, she's lovely.
