How to stop rugs rubbing mane out?

Hey, Ive heard that lining the neck of your rug with silky fabric can stop it from rubbing the mane out. Has anyone tried this? Or do you have a better solution?

Cant use a lycra hood as he is turned out. Dont want a bald horse again this year!!

Supreme products have a satin bib that prevents shoulder rubs and mane rubs - its got an extendy bit to hold keep the rug off the mane. My mates just bought one but its new out so don't know how effective it is.

I looked at those yesterday - they are quite bulky IMO and if you have a horse whose rugs are already fitted and snug around the shoulders I think you would have a problem. Just my opinion of course

I saw this at HOYS, it is very thick so i think if you have a horse who gets hot easily this will make it sweat! It looks good tho x

It does look quite bulky.. The rugs are not tight just now they just seem to rub anyway and hes a TB so doesnt get hot easily.. hmmm dont know whether to part with the money
