What's the best way to feel if a horse is cold? I've been told to go on the base of the ears and "armpits", but sometimes her ears are cold while her armpits and under her rug are warm!

I've been told base of ears aswell, problem is a lot of people feel them too high up and it feels cold when its not. Armpits, I wouldn't be a good place because the friction when they move would cause heat
The best way is a thermometer but who wants to do that every day to check they're warm! :p

I sometimes check on Athena's boobs which normally leads to her swishing her tail at me as nine times out of ten I've got cold hands!!!!!

With my hairy cob x it's hard to feel through all that hair, so I find using the back on my hand against the end of the nose is quite a good one.
