Well Manni is usually very staid on a hack and you do have to work quite hard to get him going (unless there are a pack of hounds in front of him!).
So this afternoon I took him out for a hack and for the last few days daughter has had him on competition mix, he had to stay in the stable all day today to wait for the farrier and about a minute after we set off the heavens opened and it blew a gale.
Well - what a transformation! He was trotting along with so much impulsion - his head was up - he spooked at a bush (unheard of!) and he was so keen to canter along the grass.
Will definately be trying that combination again - he was like a different horse!
Although we were both drenched I really enjoyed it and I think he did too!
