How to turnout and what classes?

My friend has a 5 year old gelding who is passported with the Dartmoor pony society but is suspected Welsh x Dartmoor.

How should she turn him out for shows and what classes could she do with him (inhand mainly at the moment)

I'd be looking at M&M classes (unregistered) in which case he should be shown natural and tack should really be as plain and workman like as possible.
If doing in hand your friend can dress as if to ride or plain light coloured trousers (as he has dark legs) with joddy boots and tweed jacket and tie.
Head gear can be your riding hat or a flat cap/ trilby type hat.
