How to WIN best turned out- help cheer a little girl up!

And an age old trick and sounds very bizarre but older judges will sometimes look for it, a white glove placed under the girths straps before the buckles and guards...........apparently used to be the *done* thing for turnout but rarely seen nowadays.
 
Don't go overboard with the baby oil, just enough to highlight the muzzle, eyes and hocks. Avoid chalk, if you really want to win, the white bits have to be truly white.
When washing the tail pay particular attention to the dock and ensure you really shampoo this part of the tail to remove the dirt.
If the tack is looking a little faded on the nose band / brow band, rub a little shoe polish in to restore the colour.
