I had a lovely ride this afternoon

I took her out to the woods, she was feeling a bit lethargic

but after 10 minutes or so she felt like her normal self

Charisma softened for me, she walked straight past a skip full of rubbish (she is quite a spooky hoss!!

) and when I took her into the woods she was a diamond, I walked her to the end then turned her around, had a trot and again she didn't pull me at all
grin.gif
then I asked for canter and again she was light, she even jumped a ditch
laugh.gif
without any hesitation (she is green!) We went faster and again she didn't pull or was silly

I did lose the dog though and had to go back and find her

She was a good girl all the way home as well! I love her! Even though when I got in from the field she decided to bully her fieldmate who I was also holding in my hand and I nearly broke my finger oops

I say all this, but she is not 100% fit at the moment (about 85%?) so I expect once the spring grass finally decides to come through and she gets fitter this behaviour might be a thing of the past

I felt a sence of achievement! lol took him down the school for the first time in ages on his own ( usually go down with friend) and he called once at the beginning but was nice and forward going! And started to soften for me in trot too
laugh.gif
and the woman who's been moaning about how i should sell him etc pulled up and drove past really slowly ( i was scared!) and so i thought eurgh here we go, and then got up the yard and was complimented. hurrah! haha.

Lovely, I rode Badger the Fjord in the school, did some cantering (Mum doesn’t do canter so he doesn’t get much practice), popped over some trotting poles and ended up jumping about 2ft3, which is a reasonable size for him. He was a very good boy, but we both worked hard!

Glad you had a nice hack!

Mine was rubbish. I wanted a quiet hack before work and I got an hour of arm-wrenching, jog trotting and sideways bouncing as my horse decided this morning was the perfect oppurtunity to practise her lateral work down the main road.

Still, at least she's obviously feeling well

Mine was wicked - having only ridden once since Christmas I went to try a horse that the owner is willing to let me ride in exchange for mucking out. Georgous welsh section D gelding, needs a bit of leg and is a bit of a baby but carries himself so nicely, all the potential is there - just delicious! Am very excited, and off to have another go tomorrow!

I had a lesson which I thought went well and felt like both horse and I are slowly improving. I watched some short video clips of the lesson after and just feel like an obese novice that can't ride at all and shouldn't be allowed near a horse.

My day was successful. Rode my new boy again today after lunging him for 20mins. Made my OH get up early and meet me at the yard to hold my horse and give me a leg up and lead me round! I took up a light contact on the reins today and halted him with them and he was brilliant. Going to ride him off of the lunge tomorrow hopefully

I can't ride Bear for a few days as he decided yesterday it would be a good idea to munch some sugar beet pellets, so he had the emergency vet out
frown.gif

But I rode my friends 16hh tb mare out today, she doesn't like working in an outline so by the time we were nearly home she was leaping and bucking
grin.gif
It was fun lol!
It was a nice dry day over this way, I haven't ridden Bear for a couple of weeks cos he had no shoe for a bit, (lazy farrier

I would have preferred one ride like yours rather than the three hacks and one lunge that I did today! First hack was going ok apart from a tag-along from next door meaning we could only walk (they race next door, and trotting with a racer and a mad jockey would have wound up my friend's youngster and my old big TB ex-racer). Eventually he decided walking was boring and he trotted off... leaving me with a 17.2hh idiot threatening to rear and take off on the road! Second one is always stressful as friend's next youngster hasn't been out much and needs very careful nannying... then the third one involved trotting for ages to wear them out.
Meh. Better luck tomorrow I suppose (especially as I get to ride MINE tomorrow

I cannot stand napping either!
Its OK if you can get them through it, I've sorted a couple out in the past, but its so much effort and hard work, it becomes a chore and not fun!
