Ok...its my my birfday at the weekend......work colleagues have today presented me with.....

wine
chocolates
vouchers for my local tack shop

Bless 'em.......obviously knew jewelery/perfume/ornament etc would be of little use to me

That's brill. In my group of friends, there are 4 of us that spend a lot of time together, we all put £10 in the kitty on everyone's Birthday, and as you say everyone else gets jewellery and perfume etc, i get vouchers for my tack shop, it's just fab.

When I left my old job they very slying managed to get in contact with my mum - find out my size in riding jacket and bought me a new black showing jacket as they knew I had to buy one for when I started riding down here

Lol....I think they get bored rigid on occasions, but they always ask after the horses......I have also been known to take in sacks of poo for their gardens...perhaps they don't want the supply to dry up

I had loads of work on for some events a few weeks ago - fortunately they went quite well. My boss gave me some Rideaway vouchers as a thank you - i put them towards some snuggly new boots, hurrah for dry feet!

Ahh - a healthy dose of self-interest on their part! Still, if it works in your favour...

Lost count of the number of times I've received perfume/make up etc as pressies - not that I'm not touched and grateful but choccolate or tack voucher would have put an even bigger smile on my face!

Ooops!

I think they were a bit bemused.....a few weeks ago they were doing the old 'what you getting for your birthday' conversation...its my 40th

so I think they were all thinking diamonds/weekend away etc etc......when I answered ' a pair of horse clippers and a wheelclamp for my trailer' I did get a few strange looks but hey....its what I wanted...

OH did offer an eternity ring but I wouldnt have worn it for fear of losing it in the muckheap...so I got free rein to pick any pair of clippers I wanted...bless him.
