Theres a few fields local to me, one obviously belongs to a house but i never seem to catch them in!

The other is behind some houses (with seperate access) and the people in the houses seem to think its owned by the gas board. Its fairly obviously not lived in by anything, no poo, no mud and the gates/padlocks are all rusted and unused. I have been down a few times (at different times) to check i didnt just catch them when they were out hacking/at a show ect and still no horses.

Im thinking of leaving a note on the gate, but if its not being used who will see it?!

So would i be able to ring the council/someone else and find out who owns it?

Put a note through the door of the house that you know owns the first field.

If you think the gas board own the other, have a really good snoop around it.
you may find gas board type things in and around the field that give you a clue.

Failing that, just phone them and see if it is theirs!

Or you could always just put your neds in it and see who is the first to complain.......................:-0

If you know which council it comes under (don't take this as gospel) but I think you can pay a certain amount £5 - £10ish and they will be able to tell you who owns the field. But under the data protection I don't know if they would be able to release that info.? I will watch this space as I would be interested to know. I once made an enquiry about how to get a footpath upgraded to a bridlepath and would have needed to know who owned the land either side of it and was told about paying (then £5 but it was a few years ago) so will be watching this thread:)
