whilst were on the subject of q and a's re selling and buying, how would you describe your horse? for example you always see 'not novice ride' or 'bombproof'. i know these are very general and what might be one persons bombproof isn't anothers. my horse was sold to me as quite green, however in my terms he isn't

I would say Genie was forward going, and not novice ride as can be very strong. On the other hand my Mum (complete novice) rode her on the lunge Christmas Day and Genie didn't put a hoof out of line. Also 100% to box, shoe, clip, etc, and good to handle.

A sexy mo'fo

Captain- def. not a novice ride, talented dressage horse. A proper WB so incrediably intelligent, fussy and a fidget, grumpy and stressy when routine changed, darling to people he likes, unfortuantely doesn't like many people! Def. personality but loads himself, goes to sleep when farrier visits. However will not be clipped. Has opinions

Fany - totally bombproof, nothing phases her, guy started up a strimmer next to her the other day, just took a step to one side and looked at it. Pheasants jump out and she doesn't blink, YO tooted his horn to get her to move out of the way, just looked round and never moved. But she is not a novice ride, due to having little steering when she puts her mind to it.
She is very stubborn and when she wants to finish a hack she will try her best to turn for home, an experienced rider can deal with this but it may scare a novice, especially as a smack or boot make not difference. Dream to load, clips easily, but refuses to pick up feet for farrier, tries to lay down. No probs when in season, but is a mare who knows her own mind!

So I agree, bombproof and novice are very general terms.

Badger the Fjord- perfect for someone who doesn’t want to do more then trot, preferably just a few strides at a time. Great on the lead rein. Looks good in pink.

Bodey- The most honest cob ever, if you muck up, he will sort you out! Needs someone who wants to go out and have fun. To good to just be a hacking horse.

Moses - well mannered welsh cob, good in traffic, load shoe box, can be a little nervy to clip, hacks alone/in company, lives in or out, not novice ride, in the fact that if you are not firm, he will take the P!! he also has a buck in him!! But does a reasonable prelim, still green as he has been taken very slowly, if pushed too hard his tiny mind doesn't cope and he gets upset!!

Maisie - definatley NOT a novice ride, naps for england if you try to hack alone, terrible with "big" traffic, bargy on the ground (why do I keep her??!!) But my god, she can jump and would be a fabulous hunter/pleasure ride horse as she loves to be with a group - doesn't get silly in company...

Lily - not broken yet so cannot comment on what type of ride - but I suspect she will be sharp!! Loads and travels and is easy to show...

A very greedy girly who is a perfect mother/daughter share. She loves her food and whinnies everytime her food is coming. She is perfect for my mum to hack out on, maybe hunt next year (mum doesn't know this) but also talented enough for me to compete on next year (dressage, sj and eventing).

My horse would be described as a problem! Grumpy, hates flatwork schooling, loves to jump, can buck, loves cuddles and grooming, and lots of attention. Anyone interested!

Das boy -in a word - ridiculous. Prone to panic attacks when hacked alone and diva temper tantrums in the school. Talented, but quite neurotic.

Not for everyone.

Das mare - Brick Sh*tHouse! Strong! Happy to plod about the fields happily, but will bare her teeth at anyone/anything if theres food about. Good for your mother-in-law

Can you believe these two are mother and son? heh.

Blaze - my angel in a hairy horse suit! Bombproof, lovely gentle temperament, fun forward going ride if you are experienced, plods like a donkey if you are novice.
Price - wouldnt sell for £20 million in cash + Shutterfly and Totilas!!!
Jasmine - aka PsychoBitchFoal - loving, affectionate, comes to call, cow to do her feet, goes completely schizo in heavy rain and/or high wind, chases dogs and birds(!)
Price - anybody's for a bar of chocolate, if you're mad enough!!

She's a sassy lady with bags of 'tude BUT if you persuade her you are not a total idiot she will be nice and play along and if she actually likes you she'll play along very nicely
smile.gif

Dylan - sensitive soul who needs the right person to get the best out of him,fab jumper who only really starts putting any effort in at around 1.15/1.20 (unfortunately my bottle runs out before that
smile.gif
) good flatwork, hacking is a bithit and miss but will eventually set foot off the drive
smile.gif
loves the little people and is perfect on the ground to handle good to clip, box, shoe but does enjoy visits from the vet a little too much for my liking

Puzzle - Mini shetland thats 18hh!
Tanzie - Don't go there, jumps like anything but can only stand 20 mins work before she'll do everything in the book to get you off! (including dropping to knees)
Kodak - Old head on young shoulders most of the time, fairly sensible. Kick on pony but not a complete plod, can nap to friends. Very cute, tendancy to try "fleece" you if you feed him too many tipbits.. Nice steady jump but can look when hacking.
Too cute to resist

Zantie - Quick to jump.. can be quirky but has some flatwork
smile.gif

Willow - Takes the P if you take your leg off, gives you a false sense of security if you can ride. LOVES to get muddy (hunting, cross country etc).
Secret - The one in a million, BFG. Does exactly what it says on the tin! Bombproof in hacking, field, school you name it. Would clone her if possible!

Apart from the talented bit yours sounds remarkably like mine lol!

I consider him, err, quirky. Definitely not for everyone, but I love him anyway

Thats true lol - I'm never done thinking of ways to overcome our latest issue lol. Sometimes I think I'm completely bonkers but there's just something so unique about the wee horror that makes me keep him around
