How wrong is it to have a personalised saddlecloth?

Being the ripe old age of nineteen now I don't think I can get away with the cutesy child excuse of having matching everything with the horse's name all over it (often in pink, I find)... yet I have just found myself looking at embroiderers on Ebay and have seen the most utterly lovely saddlecloth. Black with white piping, and Beauty's name embroidered in the corner - ooh, I must have it. Must must must.

How much will I be laughed at at a hunter trial in a few week's time if I turn up with said personalised saddlecloth?

Who cares, if you like em, then go treat yourself to one, on the bright side.....at least nobody can tea leaf your saddle cloth when its got your horses name on it, if your at 'one of those' livery yards!

im 31 and going for baby blue everything (yes i am reliving my youth, am thinking of getting those noisey westropp overreach boots where you make them stripey with 2 packs but that is sad)

going to get embriodered wonkey donkey instead of his show name as suits him better!

I want one

Then again just having B in the corner isn't too bad. I looked after a woman's horse last month called Freddy and his saddle cloth had Freddy in diamante in the corner with a big heart around it. I was too embarrassed to use it

so took one of my own over

Nothing wrong with re living your youth, better than acting too old for your age I' d say, wish I could re live my youth, if I was a foot shorter I'd still be bezzing around on ponies

...complete with personalised saddle cloths lol!

Oooh, I don't know now. Black and white is vaguely tasteful, right? (sorry but the diamante and heart 'Freddy' is just vomituous, I must agree

Teehee, I am 5ft 8" and the beast in question is only 14.2hh, does that make it any more forgiveable?

Thank god we are on a separate yard from most of the liveries but if I was back on the main yard then the un-nickable factor would definitely sway me!

Oh God - I'm can't believe I'm going to admit this - but my colours are Black and Pink. The beasts have Black with Pink binding show rugs with their names on. Black travel boots, black lead ropes. For the winter we have Black edged in pink thermatex exercise sheet (not embrodiered but only cos I wanted to use it right away).

We have white saddle cloths of Dressage - one side horses name the other side the name of a friends buisness.

Now I am the whatever of sad

Is now the right time to admit that all of her travel rugs, boots, numnahs, headcollars and even rugs are all already in black with white binding or black and red?

I have even paid well over the odds to buy black or red rugs instead of much cheaper but nasty coloured alternatives (i.e blue)

I am so so so impressed with this season's range of rugs, black and red is the in thing this year!!

Both of my horses have personalised cloths. The saddest thing is that they dont get to wear them in public as they are dressage horses (against BD rules) but they look cool when Im schooling! LOL

Not enough pink IMO

I'm 25 and when I got my horse 3 years ago I had to buy everything (rugs, buckets, grooming kit, headcollars etc) from scratch so got everything purple
grin.gif

I have a Bronte personalised jacket with his and my name on and a rug and nummah with his name on.

The good thing is everyone down our yard knows which stuff is mine - if its purple its mine

Afraid I think personalised jackets and numnahs are a no-no, but knock yourselves out with colour combinations, nothing wrong with that - and Westropp OR boots rock, I love the sound of them LOL!

If we were all the same, the world would be a very boring place.

I'm over 35 (not saying by how much) and both my comp horse have their names on the saddle cloth. Both also have every thing matching in my colours.

I don't care if people think i am too old. I also have a very bling dressage bridle so there !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's also something nice to keep if you then sell the pony. And, confuses the stewards at shows when Dotty Connection goes in wearing a saddlecloth with My Poetic Justice on it... My horses all have very pretentious names...

I bought one from ebay too! Free emboridery on one side, Navy with baby blue piping, my xc colours - "Cruise On Amiro." Admittedly i'm only 16, but i'm told i'm very mature for my age....
:P
