It looks to neat a cut to be barbed wire. It looks more like something really sharp as the wound looks clean. It should heal very quickly with a couple of stitches. Good job you saw it tonight would have been sore and dirty by the morning

I've looked around her stable and for the life of me cant find aything she could have done it on, she wasnt out today as too wet so not barbed wire and luckily the horses are kept at home so get checked alot either by mum or I!

Is there a sharp bit on the stable door maybe? Or do you have rings for the haynet and its a bit loose?

Probably grasping at straws as Ellie can injure herself on fresh air me thinks

We had a mare at my old yard who used to try and undo her bolt, she ended up with a cut in exactly the same place.

Ahhhhh th the door bolt shes forever trying to open and push open doors i will go have another feel, though she's been in that stable for a good year and 'touches wood' been ok and im a safety freak, OH maybe out polishing down every surface 'to be sure'! Mums bit depressed now she wont be able to ride her for a week or so i would say?
