Right trying to upload pictures off phone which is probably optimistic, as yet to upload pictures successfully, would like some suggestions about his weight. I am working on the topline! He's a 16.2hh ID x TB 14 year old

He looks a lot older than 14. But as for weight, he looks lean but really not too bad. Popping him on grass will do the world of good. :)

He's out 24:7 on grass and getting 1kg of fast fibre a day between 2 feeds. Definitely 14 as got him as a just backed 5 year old :-) I know his confirmation isn't great along his back, and you can probably see that 1 side of his pelvis is higher than the other, but he failed his vetting on that. :-)

thank you. I was just worried as he's usually a lot bigger by this time of the year. He had dentist in December and he's coming out on the 29th may to check them again and I've wormed him. He's getting about 8 hours of work a week, but unfortunately we don't have any hills so its just getting him to work from behind and raised trotting poles. He didn't drop any weight through winter and has stayed around 547kg, I just thought he should have put some more on by now!

Bit of grass should do the job, I also think it looks as though the side on picture has been taken from slightly above- which will only make the back issue look worse than it really is. He is a handsome lad!

it's taken from the other side of his stable with my phone held up to take it... Oops. He's going in his rested field tonight. Hopefully that will do it then. Thank you :)

Ooh just meant that would emphasise it! I'm sure he will be very glad to get out for a good load of grass. You could always (if practical) take a picture of him every few days so you can make a comparison- sometimes gradual changes are hard to see when you see them on a daily basis, but if you have a record at least then you can see it for yourself!

Be careful turning him onto the rested field - many horses are getting laminitis at the moment.

I would much rather see a sound, fit horse that's slightly lean than one that's a 'perfect' weight and footy (or worse).

he'll be coming in for a few hours each day with overly soaked hay until it's eaten down a bit. He's never had laminitis but I definitely don't want to risk it. Think the taking pictures is a good idea. I Can definitely manage that :) lots of pictures of pony, usually in stupid poses such as

He wasn't particularly impressed. But I couldn't find his full fly mask, he suffers with pollen and he was being a monkey to catch. Although he did snap his leather headcollar and get it off in the middle of the field, so obviously didn't get help from his friend next door!
