Hows everyone doing?

Oh congratulations to you and Mrs cremedementhe! That slipped under the wire lol..I wish you both a long and happy marriage!
I’m actually doing alright thank you… husband doing as well as he can be and I rode my mare for the first time in 6 months today when I was fearing she was going to be a field ornament. The skies are blue and it was a beautiful day!

And you're welcome, glad you liked the leather care, I'm going to be giving lessons soon on saddlery safety and leathercare, as soon as I have made a blackboard, got the chalk ready!

Sorry to hear about your Mum.

We moved into the same area around the same time as you, I'm sure we must have friends in common here now. Still living the dream, ponies, chickens, dogs, gardening, amazing countryside and views and starry skies. Won't be leaving anytime soon!

Yes, we have 52 animals! Including pony, sheep, ducks,chickens, geese, dogs, cats and a tortoise, going to hatch some black shouldered peacocks out next. Beautiful views right down to Cardigan from our bungalow.
I went back to Surrey last year for a family reunion, Caterham on the Hill now is not how I wish to remember it and I know I could never live there again.
SO noisy and so much anti social behaviour, it's scary.

Golly, you win on the animal collection. We're looking into getting a couple of molly lambs but need to dig out our smallholding registration first. A tortoise, how cool.

I absolutely get that about going back to where you lived before, I went back to Bath, where I'm from, quite recently for 4 days and it was awful, crowded, expensive, noisy and I discovered I've lost the ability to cross busy roads. I thought I missed the place but actually I'm just nostalgic about how I knew it 40 years ago when I first moved there.

We're up on a hill here and have the most incredible views nearly all the way round, not overlooked by any other houses, for me the privacy and peace are really special.

Our tortoise has outlived my Mum and Dad, I remember when we got him. He was found wandering round a cemetery in Caterham where my Uncle worked (head grave digger) I was about 12 years old and the tortoise was large then. I'm now 64 and the way the tortoise is going he'll be outliving me too!

You know that there's a rule: if you mention an animal that lives with you, we expect a photo of it...
 
It's nice that you are back on the forum :)

I was very recently reading the articles on your website about looking after tack. The yard let me use some of their Effax leather balm for my loan horse's bridle but I think I'm allergic to the lanolin in it!

There's host of nasties in that brand, there was a thread years ago I did on how to make your own leather conditioner and someone on there listed what is in the effax it's horrible!
Look the thread up, well worth a read if you want to have a go at making your own conditioner.
