How's everyone's grass doing?

Our nursery paddock that the lambs go on to when they first get turned out has been rested for months and I am sure it is getting less grass not more. Getting worried about the lack.

I hate to say it but I could do with some rain to soften the rutty bits of my winter paddocks so they could stay in there a bit longer! But not really any foforecast.

Dressage on Sunday so guaranteed rain here!

I am keeping my fingers crossed that the sun and last night's rain will push the grass through. The blinking rabbits have scalped the fields I was resting over winter and their winter field doesn't have a lot of grass but they seem to be quite happy picking at what is there.

It's back to 20 degrees here and a little rain forecast over the weekend too, so we'll probably be able to watch it growing next week. Cooling down again by next weekend though.

The weather here has been pretty good this year. Other than the first week in Jan when i thought i'd have to have them in at night from then on but ended up turning the back out a week later it's been like a property cool crisp dry Winter followed by a proper Spring. I managed to harrow the two smaller paddock at the end of Feb and did the field yesterday. I have brought them in at night now so they can just have the day in the paddock until we have a bit more growth. I had barely any grass going into Winter this year so have fed more hay than ever before but mainly due to the fact that the last two Springs were so wet I couldn't do any real field maintenance.

I have growth in the best part of the fields…actual green grass increasing in height!!!
