Sorry, felt compelled to post - ignore the other posts - all youngsters look pretty shity at this time of year - mine included and she is fed loads! He's bum high which shows he growing well and has a round tummy on him. I would just want to make sure that his worming is all up to date - youngsters are much more prone to heavy worm burdens, the only reason I ask is because of his portly tum!! I wouldn't worry about him too much - the spring grass is nearly here and once his winter coat comes out he will look much better!!
bandage scars ? lol......... think youl find they are white socks.
as for all youngsers looking shitty, speak for yourself
my 9mth filly looks a picture of health

How did he get the bandage scars on his back legs?

Its just mud and white socks i think.
I think personally he looks ok, he's wet and muddy which makes him look abit down-trodden and we've not had the best winter either- cant see any huge problems myself.
I think he looks ok, for just coming out of winter.
And i dont think he is to skinny, he is about right weight wise, he looks like he is a baby, with no muscle, hence why he looks a bit poor. If he is a baby then i dont like to see them with to much weight as its not good for their legs.
I would second the bit about making sure he is wormed to date.
I didn't mean any offence by saying all youngsters look shity - I just meant more looks wise - hairy, mane and tail all over the place, bum high, head looks too big for neck etc etc!! Mine is looking like a ugly duckling at the mo but I'm hoping the beautiful swan inside her is about to burst through!!
Aww, erm well its almost impossible to tell much from these pics, but at a glance, he looks like I feel after a long, dark, miserable winter. I hope he has some friends and company to cheer him up, and something more than straw? to eat.
i dont think he looks sad? hes got his ears pricked in the first pic and looks like a happy hairy chappy.
he looks like a youngster should imo hairy, muddy and bum high !
he does seem to have a weird stance but photos can do that.
i also cant see any scars anywhere - i think they are socks and mud?!
I would make sure worming is up to date but i think he looks fine!
He looks like my little un. But I have openly admitted that mine is underweight- but he wont eat- despite trying.
He looks a little under condition but nothing worrying imo- its probably because your grass looks a bit rougher. But a few feeks with good grass and im sure he will look fine. How old is he and what is he? He's cute. How big is he? he looks a good couple of inches higher on his bottom which shows hes growing. Bless him
Hi, the bottom picture was when i first got him. Its corse haylage he is eating. he's only a welsh a hes about 11 months old. the second picture the most recent. And trust me theres nothing sad about him he's one of the livelyest (sp) Bouniest little foal iv'e met!!
He looks like he needs worming to me, he's not super skinny, but that is hard to tell under the fluff, but he does have a pot belly which is indicative of a roundworm infestation.
