I've had Mollie since June. She was out through the summer but is living in now (sadly very restricted winter turnout where I keep her). She eats hay, and a scoop or two of WCF Value Horse & Pony mix with some added magnesium each day. She also gets a short while out in the paddock, or a bit of in-hand grazing daily and a very few carrots.

She only does pretty light work (I bought her for hacking). She's 17 years old. I don't intend to clip her.

How does her condition look for the time of year please? Is she too fat/thin? I know she could do with more muscle.... we're working on it!

The first photo was taken last May, a month before I bought her. The second, today.

Honest comments please!

Not very helpful but I think she looks beautiful. Her neck and shoulder are the things that really stand out to me as looking better.
I'm rubbish at conformation and stuff but imo she is lovely :)

Thanks everyone. Over the summer, I brought her in for a while most days, when sun was the hottest (she had sunburn on her blaze when I got her) and to avoid her getting too fat. Then I worrying as she wasn't as fat as her field-mates!

Thanks for the reassurance!

She looks so much younger now than in the previous picture, her topline has improved and she is holding herself so much better, a happy girl:) Like the tidy mane too.

Haha! When I first saw her I couldn't wait to have a go at that mane and tail! Here's a photo of both of us: two happy old girls together! ;)

Couldn't put it better myself - fantastic job - hope you are planning getting her out veteren showing next season ;)

I don't think we'll be venturing to any shows Vanner, neither of us has the nerve for it! But it's just rewarding seeing her improve, and nice to have some feedback. :)

:D lovely looking horse in great condition, well done.....

Thanks, I think she's lovely, but I'm hopelessly biased! I like to think she and I are both veterans who could enjoy our middle-aged years together. Mollie's rather nervous though and a worrier but I think she's coming round to the idea!

She looks just lovely, just right for this time of year. Perfect even.

Thank you Lionman. I take that as high praise, given your reputation of (ahem) speaking your mind! ;)

Mollie doesn't look like that this morning. She's just been out in the paddock while I mucked out and has come in covered in mud and sticky-bobs, right up to her ears. Glad the photos were taken yesterday! :D
