What do you think of this? Visiting Argentina, living with an Argie family for around £300 a month for own room including meals etc, unlimited riding/riding lessons and guaranteed good weather. Other activities, for example sightseeing thrown in, but the main thing would be the chance to ride, ride, ride and have someone like BOF yell at you, so possibly pick up a bit of Spanish too...
Suggestions/ ideas? BOF asked me to ask you lot what you thought of his latest brainwave.......

Throw in a date with the Argie show jumper with the 'hands' you posted ages ago, and my ticket's booked!

£300 month very good deal put my name down ....was thinking of going to florida but after seeing some of your pics that you have posted ....would rather go to argy

Sorry but no, I think you need to up the price a little....you know how wary Brits are of cheap things......

You need to be charging AT LEAST £150 per week for board.

When can I come?

£300 for a month riding, learning another language, experiencing a different way of life and getting a rare glimpse at that shiny warm thing in the sky (I forget what it's called) sounds bloody good to me!!

Well I can't speak for everyone else but personally I think its a wonderful idea!

I know I could do with a holiday and a spot of sun!!

Suspect you may end up with a mass influx of Brits shortly...

It isn't what you can do with the money, it's how the punter perceives things to be and if it is too cheap then they may be reluctant to go as they will be expecting a shed to live in!

You can't undersell just because you know how far that money will go in your country....I totally understand the way YOU are thinking as I too live in a much cheaper (from the perception of an English visitor) country, however you have to remember how it would be seen from the country you are trying to attract.

Don't forget how much people in England are used to paying for a weeks rental of a cottage.....it is around £1,000 per week at somewhere half decent.

i picked up pastport forms the other day and i think the post office lady said for a passport now was going to cost £45 fell over backwards i think my last 10yr pp cost £10 ....would only be able to come for 2 weeks .....have neddys here and i would miss them terrably (sp)

arrrrrrrr tia dont spoil it i havent been able to afford to go on holiday for over 15 yrs as im a single parent and have been since my husband died and i know my daughter would love it

I think its a great idea. I'd love to do it but I'd have to bring my son and daughter (16 and 14), would there be room for us all?

Fab idea and I think that £300 is VERY reasonable.... think what a riding lesson for an hour here costs alone!! Raneg £20-40 ... (depending on area) - THAT IS JUST AN HOUR!!!

So IMO I'd say about £500 a month and tehn the 'travellers' need to obv add flights onto that cost.. so I still reckon it'd be a bargain!!!

Sounds great! Where do I go when I land?!

I also think you should offer it a variety of different lengths as not everyone can get a month away at a time (ie me lol!)

We're in Cordoba, which is NW Argentina, with mountains, streams, etc etc and a very dry climate (not at the moment though; been blinking chucking it down for days!) Summer is very hot but not at all humid. Winter is sunny, sunny, sunny and warm during the day, but chilly at night.

Yes, I thought of that a bit later; would be easy to arrange and perhaps a full month of BOF is a bit much! LOL!!
