I took Poppy out to Rakaia PC ODE south of Christchurch. It wasn't a particularly well run day so we ended up show jumping before the dressage, so her dressage was a bit crap although she jumped a very enthusiastic clear in the show jumping. She then rocked around the XC with great enthusiasm up until the second to last fence where the rider in front wouldn't give way so distracted Poppy so much that she stopped. However, I was very pleased with her because she tried her little pony heart out, and gives such a wonderful enthusiastic feel XC. Except in the water, where she goes in but insists on walking through it as slow as possible, so the point I can have a conversation with the fence judges who are usually laughing.
And now for the scenery....(and yes, it was rather cold)
And the Pops with her happy jumping face on.
We're off eventing next Saturday as well, so lots of fun!
In other news, my big dorky Fready is back in work after his accident in April where he presented with hind end neurological problems after crashing through a fence. He was back to normal within about 10 days but has been enjoying a holiday since then. He's behaving, and going, beautifully and is being his usual Mr Minimum Effort self.
The old man has also been his usual dastardly self and spent an entire ride trying to buck my friend off into the ocean. I took him out by himself yesterday and ended up getting lost in the forest after a canter down the beach. He did not try to buck me off into the sea which I greatly appreciated. He knows who feeds him......
