I would like to go to HOYS to watch the in hand showing and do a spot of shopping

I have hesitated upon seeing the entry prices!

Is it worth a visit? Are the main ring seats comfy and roomy (big bum!) and is there anything different for sale or prices cheap enough to warrant the shopping?

Any advice would be great thanks

I love HOYS (going again this year for the 3rd time). Its horse shopping paradise, just just anywhere - some of it is expensive and some of It is cheep. Seats aren't especially comfy but sit on a padded jacket and you'll be fine! It is definitely worth the money IMO :)

I've been to HOYS now a few times and have always enjoyed it! The seats aren't that that comfy but if your only planning to watch half hour or so of the showing then thats fine - its if you sit there hours on end! As for the shopping I wouldn't say that there are bargins around every corner but the jodpurs I brought were only £16 and still going strong a year later! I would say there is something different to buy or just look at unlike your ordinary tackshop - there was a riding simulator last year (ok you couldn't buy it for £10 for a good 10 mins of riding it was well worth it!) :D

YES :D
I went a couple of years ago with 2 friends. We stayed in the Premier Inn in Birmingham, and got the train back and forward to the show. Train station is just a 5 min walk from the Premier Inn, and it goes from Birmingham New Street to Birmingham International in around 9 minutes. The NEC is joined to Birmingham International by a covered walkway.

The show itself is HUGE. There is plenty to see and do and hundreds of trade stands to walk around. Some have offers on for the duration of the show. You wouldn't be disappointed if you decide to go. :)

Horse heaven....love it and have been going every year since I can remember.

If you have the chance, go mid week as the gold ticket days are very good value for money, (have also found that even if you buy cheap tickets for these days, you can often sneak onto better seats if not sold!!)

I've ordered tickets for the friday to see the coloured horses, but I'm very local and it's just me to pay for. Looking forwards to it.

I have been ever since it moved to NEC, always Puissance night - very exciting and there is always so many stands you do feel like you have missed some! Well worth it - have now booked a yard trip and cannot wait :D

HOYS is fabulous and worth every penny! There is only one in-hand class at HOYS - the Cuddy final and you will find most of the ridden showing in the Caldene arena rather than the main arena but I vote just go - you couldn't fail to love it :)

hey all
yep love it i have organised a yard trip so there are 11 of us going to sat night and we have amazing seats i just can not wait :D:D
anyone any idea when we are getting tickets should be soon surely?

That's a shame Ibot - I'm going to miss you there with me going on Friday. If you want to meet Bree on the way up, or just come for a cup of tea let me know. ;)
