Which would you go to? Was supposed to be going to Burghley on Saturday but not liking the look of the weather forecast so thinking about what else to do instead. My immediate thought was Olympia but HOYs is much nearer to me and not at such a busy time of year. Which is better? I'm not that struck on watching lots of showing but don't mind a bit of anything else

Olympia every time for me but am biased as I've never been to HOYS. The atmosphere at Olympia is incredible being so near christmas and the only time it's been a mega trudge to London was when Fathers4Justice decided to do a Santa rally in the middle on London! It's also great seeing all the christmas lights up!

definitely olympia... much more to entertain you in the arena (larger variety). hoys strikes me as nothing but showing and SJ. Brilliant, fun, family atmosphere at olympia with everyone building up to christmas and with christmas so close what better excuse to yourself and your horse!

Where are all those people who voted for HOYs in the poll? Whats good about it? Staying very quiet.

I went to Olympia as a child when I lived in the SE and it was really magical. Have never been to HOYs but it would be cheaper because I wouldn't have to pay for a train ticket.

I am leaning towards Olympia though, it would be like being 9 again

HOYS ... coz my husband always drives and you get to park outside, hassle free. Fab show, lovely shopping hall... its got the lot.
Love Olympia too, but more hassle to get there.

I started going to HOYS three years ago because its only 40 mins away and I've never been stuck in traffic getting in or out. I go for the whole day with my pal and we never get bored of wandering around the shopping and food outlets in between watching the SJ, or being ripped off for buying a big bottle of Champers at the Moet stand

I get so excited and can't wait for my tickets to arrive.
However, this year we are also off to Olympia for the first time. Front row seats and WHOLE DAY again.

Can't wait even more now that everyone is saying its better than HOYS and I love love love HOYS

Yes the atmosphere at Olympia is good, but the shopping is much better at HOYS as there is so much more space. The one thing I don't like about HOYS is the Caldene Arena (the smaller one). It is crampt, overcrowded, and dangerous at times, with people queing to get in and having to walk backwards and forwards across the horse entrance and warm up area. Although I do believe they are making changes to try and resolve this problem this year, after there was almost a crush last year.
Basically, if its shopping you want, then HOYS, but if its the actual performance and atmosphere, then probably Olympia.
