Great day at HOYS, although I have sore feet. Saw some very, very nice SJing and horses and am now utterly dedicated to qualifying for the amateurs next year (one can dream!).

I didn't buy much, but what I did buy is lovely :D

Cannot go to Sederholm without buying something, and I needed a new bridle for every day and so I got this one...although mine has bit clips too, and the flash strap will be removed immediately...

New Musto jacket - it is ridiculously nice and warm and 100% waterproof

I also got a new leather headcollar with pretty stitching which as a bargain.

I tried on the new Dubarry boots (well I haven't seen them before!) but they only go up to a 42 and whilst they were OK, with socks they would have been tight...and quite frankly I don't have £290 for a pair of boots, but they are lovely!

Also tried on some new Pikeur breeches, so new I cannot find a pic online, but they have silver stitching down the leg and are navy, which are really quite delicious and made me think of Princess Sparkle, but at £140 I don't really need them :(

So happy days, but beans on toast for the rest of the month!

ooooooooooh sounds fab, and some nice items you have treated yourself to there and some good restraining on the pricier non essentials. Love that musto jacket. Mum just on her way home from HOYS and she has rung to say she has bought a surprise goody (ies), gutted i couldn't go but excited to see what she's splashed out on :)

Weezy did you buy one of those brush things that some chap was demonstrating? The ones for pet hair and the like? I am sure I saw you at that stand but was too shy to say hi, you probably wouldn't have had a clue who I was anyway!

If you did, does it work? :)

Was quite depressed, all I bought was a HKM dressage saddlecloth & some bandages (in black with gold piping) that I'd intended to get off ebay anyway, but got about £2 cheaper xD
Was tempted by the LeMieux girth covers, but wasn't sure how Dante would react or if they'd help or if I just wanted to buy some dead sheep ;) Also saw some lovely leather headcollars, but my favourite ones didn't have any in cob size, and the other ones I liked that were the same price, the cob size looked HUGE, and pony size looked tiny! :(

Did see lots of lovely clothes, but £50 for a fleece?? :o Scary stuff, if only we got payed to get an education xD

Wasn't the jumping fab.

I bought too much stuff! Dalmar xc boots, front and hind :) http://www.horsehealth.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=140_159&products_id=1067

Also some totti tops which are a great price (£15) and also the joules blair polo shirt as I'd meant to buy it at Blair!

I did buy this flourescent jacket as I have to ride along a busy trunk road for about 100m to get out hacking and thought it might be useful

And I got cold during the evening performance so bought a thermatex waistcoat for £18 which was lovely to wear http://www.thermatex.co.uk/thermatex-rider-waistcoat-1778-0.html

Spent too much money!

appylass you are correct :D I did buy one of the brushes, was there with 3 friends and we all had one - you should have said hello :D Does it work - started trying it on a very matted numnah yesterday and I cannot say it is much better than my usual curry comb method :(

Caroline, we thought those hi viz jackets were great - but £20 - eek!

I already have an old one of the air jackets and they are normally £16 so don't mind paying a bit extra if it will slow down middle aged women in BMW's! they are seriously dangerous. I have no problem with HGV drivers and motorcyclists as they always slow down but people in cars, try to get past you as fast as possible between the lorry coming the other way - My stirrup iron has hit a wing mirror on several occasions!

If I could get them to slow down a fraction I'd be happy and it would be worth £20 - :)

Ooh, glad I'm not completely daft, I usually don't ever recognise anyone, I could even walk past my own mother, your signature must be burned into my brain! I'm glad I didn't get one now, I usually fall for such gadgets but, like you, use a rubber curry comb and imagine it would be hard to better :)

LOL Weezy, great minds and all that, I also bought one of those musto jackets and also the technical long sleeve tee shirt, absolutely fantastic, jacket is the best ever, warm, lightweight, nicely shaped and easy to move in. Well done to the designers of that jacket!

Whilst they are not cheap I know that musto lasts, I have a Snug blouson that is 14 years old and still going strong. Not that I really need to justify my purchase :)

Designer of that jacket is Zara Phillips ;) That's why that collection is so good. Thankfully I have a friend who works for Musto :D

Not so keen on the new Dubarrys. Did you see the tweed ones?

I know the ZP stood for zara phillipps but I doubt she completely designed the jacket from scratch. Her imput into the design is excellent. After wearing the jacket it is well seen it has been tried and tested by a true equestrian user.

She's had a lot more input than people think she has (this is what my Musto friend has told me anyway) :) Length, shape, location of pockets & zips, warmth etc were all her idea :)

Ive just come back and brought some brogini boots (resisted the bling!) a belt from equiport and a bit for madam. Almost brought a v.v.bling hat, but had an eeek at the price! :o another day...

I was there all of saturday, my first time and it was really good!

Eek, shopping bags contained:

John Whitaker velvet saddlecloth, wanted one for AGES and just couldnt resist ;) (also made a very comfy seat on the train all the way back to glasgow!)
http://www.johnwhitakerintltd.com/product_detail.cfm?id=RG0211 (navy with red and white)

Some awesome socks! ;) cant find a link but they're black, knee high and say jumping on them.

Shires blingy browband- heehee got £5 off it because it was on the £9.99 rack and was really £14.99, bargin ehh? http://www.shiresequestrian.co.uk/shop/product.php?productid=593&cat=679&page=1
