Anyone been yet? Anything new or shopping that must not be missed.

I love HOYS, the displays look varied this year and I always come out with a renewed will to tidy my horses up a bit. I do miss the bargain shopping from before the Internet became a thing though.

I’m going tomorrow for the first time! Excited! We usually do London international so will be interesting to see how the shopping compares!

Sadly very few bargains to be had. Shopping is great if you like Holland Cooper, Fairfax & favour and riding leggings! I personally prefer rummaging in the saddlery shops. There seemed to be a couple more of those this year and fewer eyebrows, gin or boot cleaning stands.

i’ve been today, and back tomorrow. we’ve really enjoyed it!! found the shopping better than last year, but most stalls definitely save their show prices for your horse live (which is fine, cos i’ll be there too). slightly more bargains to be had too. the freddy steele demo was fab, and the mounted games was exhilarating to say the least!

friend has an assistance dog and we were really pleasantly surprised how good the nec was about it, we were expecting at least some questions as she’s not a “service dog” but everyone was brilliant - they even set up an extra pen where the smoking area is across from the main arena, so we didn’t need to go right back to the entrance for her to have a wee bless them!

Fab, we had the best bargains this year at the national equine show in March, be interesting to see if it compares to that though I suspect not based on the above! Either way we can’t wait x

Hmm loved the showing classes but wasn’t overly keen on walking between the 2 arenas…felt like we spent half the day walking between things! Ended up ditching the international arena for the smaller top spec arena and watched the classes in there.

Shopping also nowhere near what I expected, London International is set out better in my opinion. Can’t believe how few brands were there, feed, bedding etc…such a shame. National Equine show the best for bargains this year by a long way! I’d probably rate that as the best for shopping bargains. Don’t think I’ll go back to HOYS unless someone I know is competing!
