Hi,
Have recently purchased a silver HS1 and only just heard reports about hat silks flying off! I'm going to be wearing mine for lots of hacking and for hunting in the winter so really don't want my silk to come off at full speed!
Does anybody have any recommendations for hat silks that firmly stay on? Currently have a harry hall which doesn't look like it fits quite right as peak doesn't sit properly.
Or does anybody know where to get obe of those hat bands that keep the silk on?
Thanks!

I have a strip of stick on Velcro (hook side) on th me bottom of mine - can put anything on it then without worrying.

Another vote for treehouse - I use the Lycra ones, not had one shift at all yet and been using HS1 hats for about 3 years!

I have a rubber hat band which is brilliant and looks really neat and only cost me £4.50. I think it is called Ornella hat band or something along those lines. I used to just tape mine on but found that very tricky if the silk was a bit on the loose side. I also have a gatehouse navy silk for showjumping but wanted a coloured one for xc so the hat band is great.

Thanks everyone that is really helpful
Llee94 that is the one I have been looking at, glad it has good reviews! The tape is a bit fiddly! Will try and get ahold of one

Gatehouse used to do a velvet one that covers the entire HS1 making it look like a peaked cap - I had one with my original gatehouse hat years ago and it has never slipped off. In summer I wear a blue silk of no known brand but that hasnt come adrift either.

i've had a normal old velvet on mine for about 3 years now and its only come off once or twice in that time. i've done everything in it with no problems! I didn't even realise this was a problem with them! Do they not all have that rough finish on the top/ back?

I have a gatehouse silk on my hs1 and it is well stuck, it doesn't shift! It's a pain to get on/off so I would be genuinely impressed if wind managed to do it, because I struggle!!

I have a ten year old, velvet hat silk on mine, with all the times it's been used and got wet (the silk) it's never come off!
