I’m probably worrying about nothing but I’m doing a HT trial tomorrow and I have to go across a wooden bridge. I was planning to put studs in as even though it’s not that wet there is a good grass covering so could be a bit slippery.
Do you think Bodey will be ok? Should I come back to walk to go over it (which will probably mean no chance of getting place as we have to peg it to make the time).

Here is the bridge:

Out of off the jumps this one worries me the most, what you can’t see is the really deep ditch underneath, just kick on I think!

Anyone else doing the Blue Anchor XC, what did you think of the course? I think it’s nice but very long!
Thanks!

best of luck tomorrow! Having been scouting for things to do around Kent...You seem to get out and about so much, where do you find out about all this stuff!! I've always wanted to go to BA but can't find any info on it!!

agreed with shadylady...he won't even see it!!

Ummm, well mainly Pegasus magazine/ on the internet. Then I just send of for loads of schedules. Shame you didn’t know about BA as I’m going all on my own and would have been nice to have someone there.

Thanks, I’ll let you know how we get on!

ahhh, would've come and been chief tea maker or something useful like that

Next time your going let me know! Is it open for xc schooling?

I should think it would be fine with studs, and agree bodey will never know that ditch is there. kick on and he'll sail over.

Oh that would be lovely, my next HT, I’m dragging _Gina_ along too as we are doing the pairs. But next time I go on my own I will definitely let you know, thank you! I don’t think it is open for XC schooling, never seen anything and the ground looks to good, so don’t think it’s been used.

The bridge will be fine, the jump will be fine too. Jump is what i call a "rider frightener" .... horsey won't bat an eyelid at it but cos you've seen the ditch, you'll be worked up about.

Look at what horsey will see, and if you are still bit nervous, get out of the saddle, heels down & Just kick on. It will be fine, i promise :-)

Thanks SDH, will do! I know Bodey won't even look at it. My last HT I sat there like a compete numpty the whole way round and he jumped everything, he’s a good cob!

you'll be fine

with regards to the bridge, I watched the hunter trials there back in September and the majority of people cantered over the bridge and were absolutely fine

Anyone know what the open fences are like for today as I have signed myself up for that

but wasnt in the country yesterday as was on a school trip to belgium so couldn't walk the course...
