For those who are unaware of what I'm talking about follow the links below and read the story of Jonty Evans and Art/Cooley Rorkes Drift. Art is owned by a lovely lady who is a vet who has helped rehab horses of mine in the past; she produced the horse in the early days and it was due to one of those flukes of life that Art ever met up with Jonty - her lorry broke down and Jonty stopped to help. Like all good fairy tales, adversity had to be overcome in the shape of illness on the part of the jockey - brain bleed and paralysis. Hard graft and single minded determination got them to an amazing 9th place at Rio.
Inevitably some mind blowing offers for the horse have come in, primarily from the USA. Jonty has first refusal to buy the horse at a much reduced price and only a short period of time to raise the necessary £550K.
