Further to my post on Sunday night where I told you about my friends mare flipping over on him, I finally managed to persuade hubby to get checked out last night. He had had a headache all day, felt nauseous and dizzy and he kept coming over a bit drunk, the alarm bells started ringing so he had no choice at all and I dragged him down to A&E.

They were brilliant at the hospital and gave him a good telling off for not going to see them sooner! He has got a broken nose, but thankfully its not displaced and were concerned about the headache and pain he has in his neck and shoulders. They wanted to keep him in overnight for observation and if he had a rough night they would do a CT scan this morning, if all was ok then they would let him come home today.

I have just had a text off him and he can come home after lunch

I am really glad that he is obviously now ok and very very relieved that everything is ok. I can't wait to go and see him (visiting does not start until 11

I am so pleased he is ok. I have to say I was rather worried when you said he had bruising to his face.

I really hope your friend finds out what caused her horse to do this so it doesn't happen again. You have all had a very lucky escape I think.
 
Thank god he is ok! When I read the title of your post I thought the worse! Send him my best and you know where I am!
I do agree about the men and horses bit, they think they are invincible. My dad learnt his lesson the hard way even though I kept telling him to be careful (he thinks he stronger than a horse and as I keep pointing out he really isn't and at nearly 70 I don't mind him being stable boy but can he please stay out of trouble) anyway he is alot more careful now but it took being kicked by a broodmare and breaking 2 ribs and nearly 4 weeks in bed to learn that, now he listens when I tell him not to do something, because he knows i'm telling him for a reason, although this doesn't apply to your poor hubby because what happened to him was a freak accident.
 
Really relieved to read that hubby is okay! You definitely did the right thing getting him down there, typical man not wanting to go in straight away... What happened to him was awful and it is a miracle he wasn't more badly injured.

Hope the horse gets sorted too.

he looks a darn sight better today than yesterday. Mind you I don't think he wanted to come home!! He had nurses running around after him and he even got a cooked breakfast in bed this morning

and yes this is a nhs hospital!!

He looks good and is a happy bunny to be home, thank goodness.

I agree with that for sure.... 1. As you said 2. I don't think that he wanted the children to know that he was hurt and frighten them again.

I think i've nearly killed him off again tonight though

i made him come with me down to the yard with me as he is not allowed to be left on his own. He only sat in the car but I think it was too much and the poor thing is totally knackered!! oooppps I've just cooked him a nice dinner though so hopefully that has made up for it

I'm glad to hear hubby is ok now. It always best to get things checked out.
