The other advantage of using more than one is that they don't sag so low when they are empty. It is hard to tie a really massive hay net high enough to stop it being too low when empty.Use more than one. Easier to carry as well.
Also, as they empty, a large hay net swings and twists around alot - they horse has to pull hos neck a long way to get the hay out, and you end up with a very twizzled rope to undo.
I know this from experience!
