She has put him on the most expensive but strongest antibiotics, as she wants to treat it as if it is in the joint.

It is times like this I love my vet, she has to be my favourite person right now. Have to stop myself going out every 5 minutes and looking at him, poor thing just needs to rest without his anxious mother disturbing him every 2 minutes
 
Oh E I'm sorry to hear this.....whatever it is though you've hopefully caught it early and strong antibiotics will sort it out....
