Hugs for AJMoss

Following on from her 'I'm scared of my horse' post.... she's had a truly awful day which resulted in the horse being PTS on her vets advice. I hope she doesn't mind me posting this - shes feeling awful right now. She was clearly misold this horse by what appears to be a totally unscrupulous dealer and not the genuine private seller she originally thought. The horse turned out to be not only a novice ride and family horse as described - but incredibly dangerous. I only hope she can get some recompense through her lawyer - get her cash back and when she feels ready find a lovely kind horse that she can enjoy. Please send some HHO hugs.
Hope you feel better soon AJM.

Oh I am so sorry that she has had to go through this, I really hope that she does not lose faith in horses and everything in general .... we had lots of PM chats last night, but I never thought this would be the outcome

what happend today that decided it ?

I pm'd her earlier to offer moral support and was saddened to hear about her lad. It makes me really angry to think that some lowlife has misled a decent person in this way, with heartbreaking consequences.

How awful. (((((hugs)))))

Why is this type of thing becoming more and more common? Or do we just hear of more cases through the power of forums like this?

I know at least three people who have bought poor condition, 'quiet' horses only to find once fed/looked after/shod/turned out they have an uncontrollable lunatic - or, in one case, a horse with physical problems - on their hands! Fortunately in two of the three cases they have been expeienced enough to deal with it.

Oh god how awful for her. I hope she wasn't injured (or anyone else for that matter). And poor horse too, probably been passed from pillar to post. Still, it's in a better place now (I like to hope). Hugs to AJMoss xx

Agree it is sad but in the circumstances probably the best option. The horse clearly had a problem. He jumped a fence and two 5 bar gates to get to another horse and then set about him - he was completely out of control. The vet was called to sedate him - she quickly made an assessment that it would be better in this case to have the horse PTS before he hurt another horse or person. From the very little I know about this case this wasn't considered taking an 'easy way out'.

Poor, poor girl. What a horrible decision to have to make, but probably the right one really.

Hugs from me, I hope this hasn't put you off owning a horse, there are loads of nice one's out there.

how awful for her. I read her other post yesterday and really hoped she would be able to sort something out with the dealer to return it. I hope she manages (when she is feeling better) to get every penny back, and more for the upset she has been caused, so that she can find the right horse for her. What an irresponsible thing to sell a horse like this!

Oh my goodness

My heart goes out to her. Poor girl. Obviously there must be something seriously wrong for the vet to advise this straight away. I hope she is taking this to her solicitor.

Also would the horse be post mortemed in this event? To check if there was a tumour/something like that to cause this behaviour (I've no idea about thos ekinds of things!)

How awful, I read the previous posts and to be honest, behaviourists can change a horses behaviour towards humans but not really towards other horses (I was told by the one I had) so it was probably an inevitable outcome. Poor AJMoss and i hope the other horse is OK. My horse can be a bit of a pig with others and has lashed out under stress at an other horse (at a show) and you can't help but feel responsible, even though there is jack s**t you can do about how your horse behaves with others (gave up going to shows after that though!)
