just googled image searched capped hock as my friends mare is and i was just been nosey, and found this ? WTF?

poor thing ? Does anyone no what up with it ? its hocks look ok to me but its front leg ouch !!

The link opens up a powerpoint on unsoundness and it is truly horrific! The horse in question has ruptured tendons. (oh and it came up because there is a picture of capped hocks in it!)

It looks like it has something similar to one of the horses in Dubs siggy -

That one was a rescue imported from France that had some congenital defect.

That poor horse, I suspect it was put down after the photo was taken as the stress his joints must be under and all the muscles, and I don't think, even with surgery, they could fix those tendons. Poor thing.

if you look at the power point lecture its very interesting. The horses with its mouth open and the bad teeth, does anyone know what that is called?? it looks horrific!
