We are a charity and hit a rough patch to put it mildly. I got a call from a lady locally who said they might help.
Because of the rough patch we are in i cannot help another member no matter how much i dearly want to but thought of Hula as a possibilty.
Just had a look at their website.
it really is ages back, but the dog was in good conditition, i think he had just come in. they seemed ok, i cant remember much about the place. http://www.hularescue.org/find-us.html
thinking back i remember they didnt do home checks just give a donation, i remember people queing to take animals it was early 80's i guess things might have changed since then
I went there 3 years ago when i was looking for a new cat. To be honest, i would agree with Sooty- three years ago at least, it was a bit ropy and they really leaned on me hard to take two cats (I only wnated one, to be a friend for the one whose brother had just died). I thought they were rather unwelcoming to be honest.
However, they do seem to be absolutely legit, and they do a lot of fundraising events in my neck of the woods.
