My right side has become progressively weaker over the last number of weeks to the point where when I'm sitting it feels as though my entire right hip has collapsed. I struggle to put wait into and through my right leg on any type of bend (can kind of do it on a straight line) and my right arm/hand wobbles everywhere when riding.

I am booked in for an MRI on the area in late January, but would love insights into exercises I could do to manage it in the meantime. My poor horse is very confused by my erratic riding!

As much as it pains me to say it (I'm not a fan but recognise that it's effective) - Pilates and Yoga will help you regain some of your strength as well as overall balance.

Is it normal for you to have one side feel so much weaker than the other? It might be a good idea to see a physiotherapist as they might be able to work out a potential root cause.

In the meantime, I would say that gentle weight training could help. Although you would want to make sure you're training both sides so that you don't end up with the opposite problem. That would probably mean starting out with something that feels easy on your left side, but will help the balance in the long run.
