Human hair clippers for feathers?

Does anyone tidy (light) feathers using human hair clippers, i.e. battery powered rechargable ones with a blade guard to stop you accidentally taking lumps of hair out? I have a lightweight cob with "wispy legs" - they're not really proper feathers and look much better trimmed off. However it needs doing regularly and I don't clip my own horse, and my DIY efforts with scissors were a bit lamentable. If anyone has any recommendations for a small pair of good quality clippers that I could use every month or so for tidying his legs after a wash, I'd be very grateful. He's not keen on being clipped so something fairly quiet would be ideal.

(Edited to add, I don't want to clip his legs exactly - I don't want them naked - just shorter hair that's a consistent length, hence thinking maybe blade guards would be a good idea)

I use some dog clippers that I got on amazon. I have a welsh x so she only has light feathers. They're chargeable and small so easy to store and use, they do the job really well and came with different guards. Also they're a lot quieter than proper clippers

I had babyliss mens ones for my Arab's feathers, face and they even went through the bridle path mane hair they lasted years, I know have Wahl trimmers they were £60 some years back and they are pretty good.

Yes, I’ve done this. Repurposed human clippers to train the baby horse how to be clipped (quieter and smaller). Worked great at a fraction of the cost! I do put the guards on so I don’t accidentally take too much off!
