Did you just see the escape from the breaking ice in the Arctic where some sled dogs took a dipping? ..thankfully looked like all were OK, even the one that ended up under the sled... They weren't so keen on being in the canoes though when had to be ferried across from one bit of pack ice to another

It seems to be inherent in the northern breeds not to get too wet - I guess because they could freeze in their 'natural' environment.
None of our Samoyeds have ever liked water and will always skirt around puddles (although that might be cos they are a bit woosy!)

my samoyeds have all always hated water too!

except my puppy who seems to go against the grain of all 'usual' sammie behavioural traits, he's an odd one lol

Please, please tell that to mine. I know they only smell when they're wet, but she's always bloody wet.
