Do you use any Human products for your horses?

I use Savlon Woundwash and Savlon Dry Antiseptic regularly. Human suncream, Optrex Eyewash and Spray Saline.

What things do you use?
 
sudocrem, shampoos and conditioners, fairy liquid and anti-insect spray ( it works way better and has been tested on animals so i guess its safe to use it on them without side effects, have been using it for a few years now and she's absolutely fine)
 
Golden Eye (eye cream), teabags (puffy eyes), turmeric (for arthritis/stiff joints), baby oil... various tea tree shampoos and conditioners, paddle-style hairbrush for mane and tail, Sudocreme, vaseline, baby sunblock.
 
Let's not forget the INSIDE of our horses: polos, Extra Strong Mints, mince pies (at Xmas), swedes, cabbages, sliced bread (for his Cavalesse), the odd custard cream (best not to ask), Tescos apple juice (for disguising tastes), apples, carrots, bananas. The only thing I ever found that my wonderful highland x would always refuse was strawberries!
 
Vaseline, sudecrem, suncream, washing up liquid, baby shampoo, bonjela, piriton, can't think of any more, but I know there is more!!
 
Stear clear of Savlon and other wound treatments as they can be too strong for horse skin.

Use Nizerol for Mudfever, rain scald and greasy heel - also for itchy tails. Curash baby powder mixed with water to whiten socks for shows. Hairspray for plaits. Fructis Sleek and Shine range for Coarse rebelleous hair. Active Manuka Honey for wounds along with plain table salt.

Internally - havinf a Clydesdale means she eats just about anything - mints being her favourite followed by Powerade!
 
Yup, sudocrem, for pretty much everything, fairy liquid for washing

I also use mane and tail conditioner on my own hair, it's the same stuff, just cheaper!
 
At our yard we have bad flies in the summer and find that horse fly spray is not effective and very expensive so we use Avon skin so soft... It's an oil for the skin and is far less expensive and very effective at deterring the flies!
 
Germolene, fairy liquid (after clipping), eucylptus oil for bedding, avon SSS, dettol, nappies for poultices, baby shampoo, have used furniture polish for tails, marmite in feed for flies/midges, arnica tablets in feed for bad bump/bruise, otherwise gel. Aloe vera juice in feed for a detox, aloe vera gel for skin (rain scald etc), I'm sure there's more but can't think of any!!!!
 
On a slightly different tack I use Dermoline Mane and Tail Conditioner on my own hair. Much better than anything human I have ever used!!!
 
I read this thread earlier but didn't reply, I looked at all of my 'people' stuff down at the yard and thought that I better had :o

I have

*Baby lotion for dry noses after suncream in the day

*suncream. The one with the massive picture of a half naked homer simpson on the front.

*shampoo of the deep cleansing type, really cheap and works better than everything apart from my dog 'poo (not of the smelly sort!)

* conditioner for frizzy hair - the only thing that will tame his tail :o

*baby powder because I ran out of chalk and needed something to cover up the yellow spots on his legs :p

*Human hairbrush because it does less damage than my comb.

*Mints!

*frootloop cereal (don't ask me why, possibly because of the very high sugar content..) He loves it. I get a friend to bring it back from the US for me and he has the leftovers :)

*teatowel as a stable rubber and a fake shammy leather for drying off after he is sponged down when we've ridden

I think that's it!

Oh, and I have used loads and loads of human products and he has never, ever had a bad reaction despite him being mostly pink skinned and ticklish. He has had plenty of bad reactions to actual horse products though!
 
Savlon is my best friend :) I have a bottle of the liquid antiseptic and a tube of the cream along with sudocrem and epsom salts in my first aid kit and thats pretty much it!
 
sudocream, baby wipes, baby shampoo & conditioner, baby talc, aussie serum stuff for silky tails, piriton!! baby oil
 
Now my vet told me that Piriton doesn't really make a difference for horses, but seeing the number of people who use it I guess you think differently!

My horse had a brown (I think) inhaler for her allergies!
 
Evelyn, you are so right about Clydesdales eating just about anything. Our late, great Clyde loved fruit, veg, ginger biscuits, polos and even ate a tuna fish sandwich! We couldn't find it and noticed him licking his chops. When I lifted his lips I found tuna stuck between his teeth!!
 
I went to the chemist today to get teething gel as my lad has bitten the inside of his mouth - a friend was also in the chemist and as I put the teething gel on the counter I made a joke about how he was with his little boy but I was at the chemist getting things for my horse. The lady serving took the gel off me, went and asked her boss and then refused to sell it to me as I'd admitted I was going to use it on a horse! I had to go next door and buy some from Morrisons!!
