Following on from the 'what horsey things do you use on you' post, what human things do you use on your horse?

I use baby oil to clean my boys bits, I spray it on when its out and it works wonders!

Also use aquas cream on my cobs cracked heals to sooth them.
 
Baby oil on bits and for showing.
Furniture polish through the tail before a show (and on hocks, poo just slides off in the box then!)
Granny shampoo on greys
sudacrem on everything
milton's for cleaning water buckets
baby wipes for eyes, nose, mouth and poo stains at shows
human hair clippers for sensitive parts
bic razors for removing bot fly eggs
vaseline on ticks
cheap hairbrush for manes and tails
cooking oil for a shiny coat
Co-Op tea tree shampoo for every day baths
trugs, buckets and wheelbarrows from a DIY store, not a feed shop!

Man, I'm cheap! LOL!
 
I've used voltaren on sudden back aches when at a competition (it helps out the horse without showing up on doping). I also use talcum powder on white horses legs to enhance their color.
 
Baby oil for mud prevention on legs in winter.
Aloe vera gel aftersun for sunburn or sweet itch calming.
Hair gel to lay manes over.
Piriton tablets.
 
Baby Oil for legs in muddy conditions
Sudocreme for nicks etc
Johnsons Baby Shampoo for bathing
Vaseline if he's looking a bit dry at the corners of his mouth
Do cotton pads for various purposes count? :)
 
I tend to end up with things from work or the ex when we were together (I work in a hospital, he's a plastic surgeon)

Steri strips
I've been known to drain things myself when it's tiny (horse and cat, cat was less receptive of DIY vet!)
polish on tail and as show shine
sunflower oil in the feed for shine
 
Vaseline or Pawpaw ointment on the corners of the mouth
Zinc on pink noses to avoid sunburn
disposable razors for trimmin whiskers before a show
hairspray for holding in plaits
laundry optical whitener for my grey's tail
magnoplasm for drawing out abscesses and splinters
fixomul as a wound dressing
baby oil to clean the boys manly parts
toothpaste to clean bits
 
Baby oil for tangled tails
Cheap "own brand" shampoo for tails
Avon skin so soft for flies (use it on me and horses!)
Vaseline for any dry skin on mouth
Have used Bio Oil on cuts (once healed) to help hair regrow quicker...
Sure there are loads more but these are the ones which immediately come to mind :)
 
Always skin test first. Our mare had a terrible reaction to skin so soft. She came out in hives. Don't presume it's ok to use on animals just because humans use it.
 
A vet told me you'd need about 60 eg Piriton tablets to have an effect. :confused:

Avon Skin so Soft as a base for fly spray and for mudfever, only thing that clears the scabs and then he smells nice!

Vanish on tail, never near the dock, obviously and always hugely diluted. Vaseline, sudocreme, baby oil, the usual.
