Humane girths.

Has anyone else been told they are not allowed for competing? One of my clients was told this last week, and I had never heard of this before!

I have never heard that although I would never use one for several reasons, one being that if a girth strap broke the girth would immediately become dangerously loose so possibly they may not be allowed under some rules.

Not surprised. There have been some nasty accidents with these girths and physios don't like them.

I don't like them either but the pony seems to! Good point on the girths strap, pony club have never pulled them up.

I love mine and my welshy is much happier to have this type of girth on. But Pony Club banned them last year for the same reasons as stated above.

My horse hated hers- sold it on. Never heard of them not being allowed for competition tho.

They are banned in pony club - for precisely Be Positive's reason. If one strap breaks there is no back up. I'm not sure about BS/BE etc. But I would have hoped that people competing at that level would realize they are potentially dangerous.
