I posted about ten days ago about my 16 week on JRT having a swollen face and eye which the vet was concerned was the result of a fracture to the skull (high speed collision with table chasing cat). He was put on Metacan for a few days to get the swelling down and booked in for a general for x rays two days later. On our return the swelling had subsided so much we all agreed to wait and see. Well a week later a swollen clearly in pain puppy again greeted me when I got up to let him out :-(, straight to the vets and knocked out as vet couldn't get near him to examine. Enormous abcess removed from above eye and a grass seed also located in the roof of his mouth on the other side :-(. The vet could not find what had caused the abcess, I'm hoping it was a scratch from one of the cats and not another grass seed or I feel we will be back in :-( . Anyway dog on antibiotics and pain killers. One quizzical shaved brow and a bucket on his head.

Let's hope that's the end of it - the surgery are seeing a huge influx of grass seed cases this year.

Hugs for my very sad puppy please :-(

Poor Humbug, that sounds nasty - I shall send healing vibes!

Alice ended up at the vets this week due to stealing and chewing a bottle of Thornit ear powder - cue lots of puking (her) and me panicking. She was fine afterwards though, thankfully. Lesson learnt - my dog is a sneaky thief and has to be watched like a hawk!
