Humping help!

when I 1st took H along for his check nd vaccs I asked when to have him castrated and was taken aback with his reply....

I have to say if he has humping bitches I'd have him done. Don't think I'd hestitate. Be far too worried

Your dog is absolutly gorgeous :) The putting on weight side of things sounds rather good though! Will pop to vets tomo and talk to them about it, my poor boys balls :( OH will kill me though...boys and their bits!

Oh don't talk, all the lads at training still think it's really funny to wince and cross their legs when B walks past :p

My boy is still a skinny moo but better than he was. He still, very occasionally, tries to mount his sister when she is being a skank and standing for him when she is in season. He just looks annoyed and confused and falls off :o

I always thought a male dog's coat was only affected if the dog was neutered too young? I know that my pug was done at eight weeks (puppy mill dog) and his coat is like a Husky's.

Agree with the others that not all female dogs tolerate humping. My Boston terrier is the worst, as she flirts up a storm, permits them to get to third base :D and then snaps if they try to hump. And then she runs in circles, trying to get the poor male dog--usually whining by this point--to chase her.

Your dog is lovely :) I bet he's been in his element this winter (with the weather, I mean--not because he's has his way with the local bitch populace).

Hahaha! typical lads then...!!!

What is it with skinny boy doggies on here?! How old is your B now? I was told he was probably skinny because he got the GSD side of being skinny then bulking up?

Hahaha bless him!! well yuck, but ha dogs are oh so lovely!

8 weeks?! poor boy! oh his coat sounds lovely lol!

Bless her :p typical girly... But i think murphy needs to be told NO but none of the dogs round here will they all encourage which doesnt help!

Thank you i think so but im very biased :D he has loved it so much; his first ever snow and he goes mad, eats as much as he can then rolls then runs as fast as he can in circles... :o

Nope Prose the coat can go thicker, duller at all ages when done, but certain breeds u cannot tell so much, like frizzy haired breed, or say long coated akitas, my akita coat was the same before and after and so is the akitas I board, thingd like cavis, spaniels, u can tell signifigantly, but grooming regurlarly helps immensley, my mams long coated shep and her husky and mal there is no difference with their coat at all.
I board (was an X rescue, beardie X, he is a beautiful looking dogs and has straight as a die silky hair and it has never changed even when neutered.
I also boarded an old english sheep dog he was also neutered young, again no difference, he was mind u groomed at the parlour every 8 weeks and kept in full coat also.

CC - Yup agree with skinny rather then tubby! bless him!

Spoke to 3 different vets today and all quoted about £150 for the castration. They did all say however that they would recommend waiting til he's at least a year old which is 2 months. One said it may well be a phase and he'd grow out of it...
